CST of America seeks Principal Engineer in San Mateo CA. Provide advanced technical support in application of software tools for simulation of electromagnetic fields and related microwave/RF, optical/photonics and thermal/electromechanical problems; serve as technical expert in electromagnetic field simulation applied to Optics/Photonics design/analysis including optical waveguides, integrated photonic devices, optical storage devices and optical components such as couplers/filters/splitters; technical resource for electromagnetic modeling of Optical/Photonic applications using numerical techniques including Finite Integration Technique, Finite Element Method, Eigenmode Expansion, Transmission-Line Matrix Method; provide inputs/requirements to product planning/market area, especially technology related to Optics/Photonics; develop software code/macros to improve modeling efficiency and post-process simulation output data; technical account management for key customers; develop product training materials. Reqs: Masters in Electrical or Communications Engg with concentration in 3D electromagnetic simulation of optical and photonic devices and related materials; 8 yrs in 3D electromagnetic simulation of high frequency and optical applications and 5 yrs in customer-facing technical support-exp can be gained concurrently (in alternative will accept PhD in Electrical or Communications Engg, 5 yrs in 3D electromagnetic simulation of high frequency and optical applications, and 3 yrs in customer-facing technical support); in depth knowledge in numerical and simulation techniques particularly for electromagnetic and multi-physics analysis, analyzing results of simulation to meet end-user requirement, product testing and benchmarking, and developing software code and macros.
