Business Group Overview: The Silicon Photonics Product Development SPPD is part of Digital Communication Group DCG. SPPD is leading the company’s world-class, industry leading-edge photonic communication development. The mission of SPPD is to deliver breakthrough technologies to fuel Intel’s growth. This includes new technologies and opportunities reaching first-to-market technologies and innovative new usages for data transfer technologies.
Responsibilities: Join SPSG’s Quality and Reliability team as a Senior Laser Quality and Reliability Engineer. In this position you will be a member of a team responsible for driving Optical Module Reliability, the reliability engineering of current and future Silicon Photonics SiPh and passive components, and boards, as well as technology qualification, testing, and failure analysis FA. The successful candidate will deliver following key results: Define Laser reliability qualification plan per industry standard and support engineering teams on DOE plans for DFx.Responsible for managing all elements of reliability operations, including wafer prioritization, test vehicle design, sample preparation, service supplier management, and test execution. Will also be responsible for program management of major projects, such as new reliability test racks and reliability database development. Develop the product reliability models to predict life in specified field environmentSupport customer product qualification. Qualifications
Qualifications:
Strong skills driving multi-functional teams or supplier teams to successful project completion. Deep understanding of equipment needs for reliability test understanding of semiconductor laser design and fabrication also a must. Understanding of silicon photonics a plus, but not required.
Minimum qualifications:
- PhD degree in science or engineering, plus minimum 8 years of experience. Degree and dissertation should be in semiconductor laser device research. -Must have had at least 2 years of experience in semiconductor laser design and fabrication. -Must have had at least 2 years of experience in optimizing or testing semiconductor laser reliability. -Past experience in program-managing at least a few major projects to successful completion required. Experience building a reliability test lab or running reliability operations a plus.
Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated capability of performing complex reliability analysis-Strong statistical data analysis skills JMP or Minitab etc-3+ year experience in bench-top optoelectronic device/module testing -1+ years experience with or knowledge of laser FA and with analytical/characterization techniques Backside EL/CL/EBIC/TEM etc would be highly valuable Inside this Business Group
