Job Description:
Virtually every communications network in the world—telecom, enterprise, or data center—depends on our optical components and modules. Our high-performance commercial lasers are critical to advanced manufacturing techniques for products ranging from semiconductor chips, smartphones, and tablets to automobiles and appliances. Our products were integral components in the first high-volume 3D-sensing gaming application, and they now enable next-generation capabilities for diverse consumer electronic applications.
We are a world technology leader, and our employees are part of an elite, innovative, success-driven team operating in a fast-moving, collaborative work environment to solve real-world problems.
We are seeking an Epitaxy Process Engineer to join our dynamic team, performing the following:
In this position you will:
Assume responsibilities of metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) epitaxy process ownership on dedicated reactor and/or epitaxy product portfolio of III-V compound semiconductor platform towards 24×7 manufacturing and developing new-generation optoelectronic devices for optical communications and consumer applications.
Deliver all key epitaxy production matrices including the line yield and its continuous improvement process (CIP) including reactor component design improvement participation, on-time delivery to growth commitment, data generation and presentation towards driving the epitaxial manufacturing continuity and its troubleshooting, procedure protocols documentation, wafer cost/cycle time, lean manufacturing, engineering change order, statistical process control (SPC)/analysis/report, work instruction, corrective action, high-level production training, manufacturing execution system (MES), process flow, volume manufacturing, other manufacturing documentations/logistics.
Interface closely with the manufacturing production as well as various chip RD designers, product engineers, equipment engineers, process engineers, to maintain and improve the legacy wafer fab chip products and to develop new product.
Requirements:
Ph.D (with 3+ years of applicable hands on experience or Master degree (with 5+ years of
applicable hands on experience) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related field is required.
5 years III-V compound semiconductor epitaxy growth experience, expertise in the related materials and device physics, and demonstration ability of effective troubleshooting in MOCVD processes is needed.
Demonstrated ability to analyze the data, write clear technical reports, and make crisp presentation is necessary.
Willingness to work supporting of 24×7 fab manufacturing that additional off-hours on-call support may be required.
Prior solid track record on epitaxy growth of InP-based material (InP, InGaAs, InGaAsP, InAlGaAs) and related material device technology is a plus.
Familiarity and hands-on experience of MOCVD reactor hardware, software and its capability upgrade/improvement is highly preferred. Prior experience of running MOCVD reactor generation of AIX 2400G3 or AIX 2600G3 or AIX 2800G4 planetary systems will be a plus.
Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the relevant III-V compound semiconductor wafer and device characterizations such as photoluminescence (PL), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), resistance measurement, point probe, Hall effect, ECV/polarons, particle/defect scan, thin film reflectometer, and spectroscopic ellipsometer is desired.
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing epitaxy with familiarity with design of experiment (DOE), statistical process control (SPC), methodical data analysis for process performance improvement and process troubleshooting is ideal.
A highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and a strong team player with good communication skills.
Ability to adapt in rapid changing priorities, to thrive on technical challenges within and outside own core area of expertise, and to interact effectively across multi-functional teams.
