Job Description

Intel’s Silicon Photonics Product Division SPPD is currently looking for a Senior Optical Receiver Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for RF design and testing/validation of high-speed integrated optical receiver based on SiGe PIN photo-diode and Avalanche photo-diode APD. Responsibilities also include RF design, simulation, and validation for photonic integrated chip, and receiver subsystem planning and testing. The ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral traits that indicate: – Strong verbal and written communication skills – Excellent problem solving skills

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job and/or research experiences.

Minimum qualifications

Must have a MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optoelectronics, Optics, Physics, and similar technical discipline- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in the following skillsets

High-speed optical receiver chain design and validation including photodiode, TIA, board, Demux, fiber coupling, and high-speed connector -RF modeling and simulation based on commercial software such as HFSS and ADS – RF testing using high-speed probe, VNA, and DCA -RF testing with semiconductor lasers, electro-optic modulators, and PIN detectors – Die-level and module-level or subsystem-level testing including optical bandwidth and Rx sensitivity – Optoelectronics, semiconductor physics and device physics – Understanding of high-speed IC’s including TIA and amplifier and board design

Preferred qualifications

10+ years of experience in the above skills sets

5+ years of experience in silicon photonics research and development Inside this Business Group
