Skilled with electronics, mechanical design, fabrication/machining, actuators/robotics, control systems? Glint is seeking talented and highly-motivated engineers to help drive our prototyping efforts. We are a small team developing new products that will improve the performance of solar panels and the quality of indoor lighting. Our unique technology uses configurable optics to provide new functionality in solar concentration and illumination. The transformative potential of this technology has been recognized through funding awards from the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Project Agency, and the California Energy Commission.

The role

• Build and test prototypes of new solar concentrator and luminaire products
• CAD design of mechanical parts, machining/fabrication of prototype units
• Development of precision assembly and alignment procedures
• Development, testing, and optimization of control and actuation schemes
• Closely coordinate with optical design and materials development efforts

Requirements

• B.S. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant field
• Significant experience in mechanical design & fabrication
• Significant experience in electronics design & test
• Experience in automation, controls, and programming is a plus
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent references
• Local candidates preferred
