Gooch & Housego is a world leader in the design and manufacture of customized photonics components and modules for industrial, avionic, and medical OEMs. At our Fremont, CA Facility (35,000 sq ft; 60 Employees), we are looking for a motivated and independent Individual to organize and direct activities of Staff in the design, modification, maintenance and administration of EH&S policies. This includes: compliance to all relevant environment, health and safety policies, programs and regulations; ISO14000; and the management of the Site’s HAZMAT inventory and waste disposal. In addition, this Individual will manage the Site’s Maintenance/Facilities personnel to established goals and targets (PM and Up-Time), including as an effective Emergency Response Team (ERT). Job Responsibilities Essential Functions :
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local EH&S regulations, incl HAZMATs
Manages and maintains ISO14000 System and compliance
Supervises Maintenance/Facilities personnel, including PM Compliance, Up-Time, etc
Manages Emergency Response Team (ERT); acts as Emergency Coordinator
EH&S Training: New Hire, Chemical Handling, ERT, etc Knowledge, Skills and Experience Education and Experience :
Minimum BS Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in related field
CSP or equivalent Accreditation is desirable
Solid practical experience handling HAZMATs in Light Manufacturing environment
Ability to interpret and react to changes to applicable Regulations
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
