THE POSITION: Infinera is seeking a Director of North American Field Marketing within the Field and Segment Marketing organization . The role will be responsible for developing, adapting and executing highly effective marketing programs to increase market awareness, generate demand, accelerate pipeline and grow sales in North America. This includes understanding multiple customer segments, developing marketing personas, designing account based marketing (ABM) plans, defining demand generation marketing campaigns and managing events and customer experience programs to North America service providers, government, and enterprise prospects and customers.. The position also supports key sales activities including sales enablement and sales training.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, independent, able to directly and matrix manage people across cross functional teams. The candidate should have previous experience in field marketing as both an individual contributor and running a field marketing team. Solid integrated marketing function mastery, excellent leadership and influencing skills, strong project management and people management skills, especially around promoting cross-functional collaboration in a matrix environment, and driving a discipline of data-driven marketing ROI tracking and measurement.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop, Maintain and Manage a North America Field Marketing Plan including Strategic account based marketing customer plans,
Increase brand preference by increasing awareness in key customer segment through direct and indirect marketing activities
Develop and execute broad range of integrated inbound and outbound marketing campaigns, programs and promotions to acquire new customers, expand and retain installed base, generate net new pipeline and accelerate sales opportunities in pipeline ensuring all activities are aligned to sales priorities and selling motions.
Manage execution of integrated marketing programs across multiple vertical marketing strategies and programs across Tier 1 carriers, Wholesale and enterprise carriers, Tier 2/3 global telecom operators, cable operators, R&E, partners, enterprise & government to maximize Infinera revenue.
Provide account based marketing support for select key accounts
Directly manage, and matrix manage a team of marketing professionals to execute to a budget and metrics that maximize return on investment.
Maintain/Report all metrics important to the business to sales and marketing exec teams
Required Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be well organized, self-starter with the ability to manage build/develop/execute best practices as well as new ideas to help drive product revenue growth. The candidate must also be able to associate all goals, objectives and budget requirements into measurable results to continually evaluate & drive success, as well as combat competitive threats.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
10+ years experience in field marketing organization/function
10+ years Marketing experience in high-tech environment, incl. integrated campaigns & content.
An excellent understanding of marketing functional disciplines
Outstanding project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives in parallel
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills
Proven track record of marketing success, esp. in B2B environments.
Revenue marketing, driving funnel conversions, and metric focused executions are key skills
Good interpersonal, project and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Possess strong leadership and management skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, MBA is preferred.
Strong business and market analysis skills
2 nd language skills a plus
