We’re proud of our more than sixty years’ of hands-on experience designing and building analog semiconductor technology across the RF to Light spectrum.Director, Quality – Optics Job Purpose: The Director of Quality will lead a team dedicated to driving continuous improvement in the quality and reliability of MACOM’s high speed photonic and optoelectronic semiconductor products. The role will involve being a strong representative for the quality team with internal and external customers and providing a clear vision to enhance the customer experience . Main Duties and Responsibilities: Develop QA tools, capabilities, and talent to continuously improve our quality systems.
Lead failure investigation and corrective action for customer related failures, and facilitate customer quality & reliability interactions.
Communicate quality issues to the MACOM leadership team with recommendations for improvements.
Work with R&D and the manufacturing engineering teams to perform FMEA and establish quality check-points to drive towards zero-defects in production.
Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) practices in a stage-gate NPI process.
Work directly with suppliers to ensure compliance of supplied materials. Qualifications: More than 10 years of increasing responsibility in the areas of Quality and Reliability. Knowledge and experience of working with Optical Sub-Assemblies (OSA) and optical components such as CDRs, TIAs, Lasers and Photonic ICs. Excellent communication skills.
MS or PhD in Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Engineering
Understanding and working knowledge of the key elements of: Reliability Engineering and Qualification procedures (Telcordia, MIL_STD, JEDEC, IPC, etc.)
Manufacturing Statistical Process Control, (SPC, Process Capability, DOE).
Problem-solving methodology such as six-sigma Black Belt, 8D, or Global Problem Solving.
Experience in driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) in a stage-gate NPI process. |
