Sr. Laser Technician/Development – Daylight Solutions – San Diego, CA

Responsibilities:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES Learn and develop build processes via oral instructions and translate them to written work instructions Use SolidWorks to make assembly instructions and create tooling designs Train production staff Build and debug at pilot line build stations Build BOMs and participate in the material procurement and tracking using the company’s MRP system Execute DVT type tests and formally report on them Define helpful quality tests along the build process Develop methods to enforce build checklists and quality tests Interact with engineers (SW, EE, ME) to solve problems and incorporate a new product’s demand in manufacturing’s existing hardware and software platforms Participate in product and tooling design reviews Setup and keep lab organized

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS AS degree or comparable level laser or optics courses is required. 8-10 years of experience in laser, photonics or high technology manufacturing is required Experience performing intermediate failure analysis and using quality tools to find root cause Ability to write/define procedures and process improvements Maintain and support quality and production standards and perform inspections Experience training other technicians Ability to analyze and record data, Independent troubleshooting skills Familiarity with clean room protocol required. Experience with Laser alignment and fine-assembly skills required. Proficient computer skills required (MS Office, spreadsheets)
