This postdoctoral position is for the experimental research on the development of 2D fils and crystals for applications in next-generation photonics and electronics. Perform and publish high quality research in the physics, chemistry and engineering of properties of nanostructures and nanosystems. Contribute to enrich our laboratory environment and promote excellence in research and learning. Conduct independent research, work with graduate and undergraduate students and other researchers to facilitate successful research projects. Other Work/Responsibilities
The research of the prospective candidate will focus on exploring CVD and MOCVD approaches to synthesize large-scale 2D materials and heterostructures, including but not limited to transition metal dichalcogenides ( TMD ), h-BN, and graphene. The research also involves characterization of the composition and properties of the synthesized materials using a variety of sophisticated tools. One important task is to fabricate and characterize electronic circuits with the 2D materials. Minimum Experience/Education
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment. Departmental Required Skills
PhD degree in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related discipline. Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
