Lensing Engineer at TRUMPF Photonics located at Cranbury, NJ
Lensing Engineer will be
responsible for the lensing and testing of diode laser devices and modules.Engineer will be responsible for complete
ownership of the production equipment, process control/sustaining of existing
processes, supporting the development of new processes, support of maintenance
for troubleshooting.Excellent problem
solving and communication skills as well as a desire to be part of and lead to
solutions are critical to an individual’s success in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities
The

Analysis of product and process control charts to identify
excursions
Resolve process and equipment excursions using PDCA/root cause
analysis and other techniques
Process/Equipment Capability and MSA analysis and improvement
Documentation of processes, driving ECNs for changes, and training
of production, engineering and maintenance personnel to those documents
Organize, summarize and present complex results in a concise
format including recommendations and conclusions
Ensure measurement results and equipment availability through
hands on use of test equipment such as power meters, integrating spheres,
current sources, voltage measurements, spectrum analyzers, cameras and
other electrical and optical measurement tools
Requirements/Education
M.S. Optics or Physics with 3 years experience OR B.S. Physics
with 5 years experience.
Strong working knowledge and experience on optical components and
systems.
Knowledge on diode lasers and laser systems preferable including
experience in micro optics alignment and attachment (FAC, SAC, BTS)
Experience on Electrical and Optical tests and
measurements, using equipment such as optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes,
power meters and beam profilers and ideally good understanding of the critical
parameters in those measurements and the according raw data analysis (e.g.
methods for noise reduction).
Prior experience in an engineering support role
for manufacturing of laser products is desired .
Extensive experience with SAS jmp, Minitab or other statistical
Software package
Extensive knowledge of SPC / DOE/ 6 sigma / Problem Solving
required (certification preferred)
Proven track record of participating on and leading teams in
problem resolution
