Raytheon IDS Electrical Engineering Power and Electronics Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer, with experience in power electronic and analog circuits. The candidate will work with commercial off-the-shelf and custom hardware designs to achieve system requirements. Responsibilities include working within a team of engineers to develop proven designs based on modeling and simulations. The candidate will enjoy meeting schedule deadlines, and project budgets. The selected candidate will work closely with other members of the development team in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware functional requirements, and achieving those requirements in design, test, and verification. This opportunity will employ a combination of classic design techniques, modern power electronics knowledge, and hands on laboratory skills. Required Skills: Minimum of 10+ years experience including the following:

Experience in the design and development of power electronics hardware such as power converters, power conditioners and linear regulators
·
Experience modeling and simulating using Mentor Graphics System Vision, PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer based tool.
·
Broad based hardware engineering background
·
Excellent ability to multi-task
·
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·
Proficiency using test equipment
·
Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a larger team
·
US Citizenship is required as this position will need a US Security Clearance with one year of start date
Desired Skills:
·
14+ years experience in power electronic circuit and system development
·
Hardware development experience in a DoD environment
·
Experience writing detailed verification test plans and test reports
·
Experience working with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designs
·
Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting
·
Existing security clearance
Required Education: BS in EE or any related major (Advanced degree preferred)
EDD:
Raytheon’s Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) in IDS provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies.
