Laboratory Technician

About Us
– Diemat Incorporated is the North American R&D Center for NAMICS Corporation. NAMICS is a technology-driven company based in Niigata, Japan. It has significant and expanding worldwide sales of adhesives and sealing materials, primarily for the electronics industry.
– Provide support for the various technical, sales and business activities of NAMICS Corporation.
– Expanding our R&D activity and contributions through growth in facility, equipment and staffing.

Responsibilities
• Assist in the research and development of new or modified adhesives, sealing materials and technologies
• Prepare laboratory-scale versions of experimental formulations
• Perform physical and analytical testing and evaluation
• Assist in the scale-up and transfer of commercial products to manufacturing
• Maintain inventory management of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods
• Perform occasional order fulfillment and ensure quality control
• Monitor and manage equipment calibrations and laboratory supplies
• Operate and maintain testing and processing equipment
• Perform powder processing and classification
• Interact with various departments and locations, and possibly with suppliers and customers
• Keep accurate written and electronic records, and write comprehensive reports
• Support a team comprised of chemists and engineers with diverse backgrounds

Education
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related field

Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of industrial chemical experience, including research and development activities
• Knowledge of and conformance to environmental, health and safety requirements including material handling, PPE, RoHS, REACH, SDS’s, GHS, labeling compliance, etc
• Experience with formulation, processing, synthesis and testing of organic and inorganic compositions, including adhesives and sealing materials (a plus)
• Background in polymers, glasses, ceramics, minerals, metals and other raw materials (a plus)
• Knowledge of electronics and photonics applications, materials and process technologies (a plus)
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.)
• Reside within commuting distance from our facility (no relocations please)

Compensation
Mid to Upper 40s per year
