Analyzes, designs, and develops acquisition, tracking, and pointing (ATP) and adaptive optics (AO) – wavefront control (WFC) subsystems for high energy laser (HEL) systems. Evaluates, investigates, and performs applied research and development on emerging ATP, AO, and WFC electro-optical technologies to improve performance and reduce cost for HEL products and solutions. Team-player with the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and enable senior leaders to build and develop cohesive and effective engineering teams. Effective in oral presentation. Good written and briefing slide development skills. Operative skill in MATLAB and industry standard software tools required to be effective in the position. Desired skills
Demonstrated potential to advance in technical and programmatic responsibilities, supported by publications, advanced degree(s), and challenging program achievements. Demonstrated skill in both Fourier optics and multivariable controls. Scientific and mathematical grasp of the theory and practice of atmospheric propagation of laser beams. Proficient in ZEMAX and SIMULINK. Experience in test-bed and instrumentation setup for experiments and demonstrations.
