Physical Optics Corporation (POC), is a fast-growing Southern California high tech company specializing in advanced military defense, homeland security, and energy solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Coordinator for our Photonic Systems Division, specializing in the development and production of Advanced Sensors.
This position will be responsible for overall purchasing and materials logistics to support all stages of product development, working side by side with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel in a dynamic and engaging environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the Division’s success, ensuring that we continually meet required production schedules as well as managing end-to-end materials procurement for internal developments.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
Initiate, implement, and maintain the division production material control processes using Deltek Costpoint accounting software.
Provide requisition and purchasing support to all programs in the Division.
Analyze current orders, historical data, and other records to determine the best source for materials.
Help expedite material to maintain production flow to meet customer schedules.
Assist in inventory control and reporting.
Work closely with POC’s centralized Purchasing, Accounting, and Quality departments to reconcile issues.
Help define and maintain performance metrics for Division’s materials and purchasing logistics.
Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION:
Minimum high school degree is required; Associate’s or higher degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field is preferred
Certifications from Industry associations is a plus (C.P.M.).
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years in high-tech manufacturing/production environment.
2-4 years of purchasing experience within the aerospace or electronics manufacturing industry.
Understanding and hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Costpoint or equivalent.
SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
Ability to commit and work under deadlines.
Must be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability, and professional development.
Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have an active Secret Security Clearance
