Fab 10 is seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Packaging Technology and Integration (PTI) Si-Photonics Materials & Assembly Process Engineer in Hopewell Junction, New York. The main responsibility of this position is to develop and evaluate novel fiber attachment materials & processes to drive improvements in both the optical performance and module assembly of Si Photonic components.

Essential Responsibilities
:

Leverage knowledge of optical inter connect technology to identify materials such as adhesives and optical fibers which will enable high optical performance of Si Photonic related components. Drive the characterization and functional evaluation of these materials by conceptualizing and executing the required experiments and provide appropriate data analyses to the larger technical community.

Provide process assembly support of integrated modules as a means to evaluate, qualify and implement these new materials ensuring compatibility with the module assembly processes.

Work with the technical team to develop new integration assembly strategies to leverage performance, cost and reliability advantages from new materials

·
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
:
·
Education – MS in Engineering or Materials Science

·
Experience – 3yrs minimum

·
Travel – 10%

·
Language Fluency – English

Preferred Qualifications:
·
Demonstrated experience in optical interconnect related activities

·
Demonstrated experience in semiconductor packaging technology

·
Strong problem solving and technical trouble shooting skills.

·
Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
