The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the fields of theoretical physics including, but not limited to, quantum optics, condensed matter physics, photonics or quantum information sciences starting in the Fall 2016. The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong research program capable of attracting a substantial extra-mural funding in areas that would complement the department’s existing research activities in AMO, quantum optics, and condensed matter physics. He or she is expected to become a part of a collaborative research within the Center for Distributed Quantum Computing, the Physics Department and of multidisciplinary projects involving faculties from other department on campus. The search targets applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor, however the applications for a higher rank will also be considered. Requirements: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or equivalent and a post-doctoral experience. They must demonstrate an outstanding research record and an interest in, and commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
