Research Scientist – Molecular Beam Growth

UES, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Research Scientist to join our Photonics and Electronics Technologies Division, working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The Research Scientist will address the development and use of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) for growth of electronic or electro-optic materials of interest, possibly including gallium oxide or heterostructures based on this. High quality, single crystal oxide thin film synthesis will be investigated with an attempt at controlling impurity/doping using MBE or other suitable techniques. Material characterization shall be used to guide the synthesis of the thin film and to demonstrate its quality. These characterization methods could include XPS, XRD, AFM, SEM, and magneto-transport measurements. Primary functions will include: • Development and use of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) for Ga2O3 • Film synthesis with impurity/doping control • Material characterization • Analyze and communicate results |
