Develop Next Generation Active Safety Vision Components and Products

Review customer specifications and document requirements
Be responsible for leading system architecture and mechanization for optical based products
Design, develop, build and test systems and products based on optic, photonic, LED and laser technologies including specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive optical components
Developing and benchmarking system performance models,
Developing and implementing test procedures and/or evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation.
Coordinate activities and requirements for other competencies.
Perform requirements review
Support product design reviews
Support hardware prototype builds
Characterize and test product performance
Present product design, analysis and testing to customer Required:
BS in Engineering or Physics with an emphasis in optical component design and packaging
Design of optical components and/or systems
Lab equipment experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes function generators and multimeters
Must have working understanding of applied optical design and simulation using optical simulation tools and experience designing and verifying optical systems to specifications, both in simulations and in the laboratory
Ability to work with a global program team
Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
Minimum or 3 – 5 years’ experience, 2 years’ experience with a Master’s or Ph.D., well qualified candidates with less experience will be considered
Preferred:
MS in Engineering or Physics
Familiarity with radiometers, imaging photometry and lens testing equipment and optical design experience with ray trace analysis software (e.g. Zemax, CodeV, LightTools, etc.) and experience transitioning designs to production is highly desired.
Ability to analyze camera signal-to-noise (S/N), fixed focus lens design, illumination optical design for collimation optics and/or LED or Laser source Familiarity with image quality metrics including Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), glare, distortion and other camera performance measures is required.
Familiar with CAN Calibration Protocol (CCP), (XCP), Instrumentation Tool Suite (ITS), CAT, Canalyzer, DPS Programming, DVTools, other serial data tools.
Understand vehicle level serial communications interfaces with other subsystems
Ability to multitask across various project activities
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
