Customer Application Engineer – Intel – Santa Clara, CA

The Customer Application Engineer is a key factor in the growth and widespread industry adoption of company’s silicon photonics optical interconnect product line. This individual will be a primary technical interface to both internal and external customers and will work closely with product line management and field sales on both pre- and post-sales customer engagements in order to achieve key design wins, and with the engineering team to help outline customer technical requirements. Responsibilities include: First-level response to technical issues during customer validation, qualification, and beyond, including replicating customer issues in the labProviding product application, test and reliability specification support to account team and customers Developing a deep understanding of customer applications and requirements analyzing customer specifications and performing gap analysis, to help define compelling and competitive productsGiving product demonstrations and discussing key technical specifications with customersTraining customers and field support and applications teams on silicon photonics technology and productsModerate travel required

Qualifications

BS degree with 6+ years of experience or MS with 4 + years of experience with direct, hands on experience designing, validating or providing applications engineering support for high-speed 10Gbps Optical Transceivers

The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of optical transceiver design, specifications, and system applications combined with strong leadership and communication skills both written and verbal.

The individual must understand optical interconnect fundamentals, high speed circuit design, and firmware, and should be able to work with customers to debug system performance related issues.

The candidate should have a good knowledge of Ethernet, optical transceiver MSA, as well as related IEEE standards.

The candidate must be a self-starter and have experience and aptitude working across functional teams to achieve results.

Analog/RF design and/or validation experience up to 25Gbp

Optical test equipment and methodology for testing key high-speed and DC optical parameters.

Prior experience with 100G optical interconnects is highly desired.

Knowledge of data center and networking architecture, high-speed silicon and switch ASICs is also a plus Inside this Business Group
