LEA COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

Our cooperative came to fruition in 1949 after a group of Lea County citizens banded together to develop an electrical service for people in rural areas not powered by the central station. In the beginning, we established 136 miles of electrical distribution lines that served around 1,250 consumers. Through technological advances and modern updates, we’ve greatly expanded our services to power more than 7,000 consumers with over 4,300 miles of energized lines. Now, we provide energy to portions of six counties in New Mexico and Texas. We take pride in helping light up our community!
