Job Description
Abberior Instruments America (a subsidiary of Abberior Instruments GmbH) is expanding its team of Field Service Engineers (FSEs). Our FSEs work closely with their counterparts in Germany, the local US team, and with our customers. FSEs are the main point of contact for our customers for all service and maintenance related activities.
This is a customer-facing role providing on-site and remote services that include installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Abberior’s instruments. It is a great opportunity for early career professionals with instrument operation exposure and knowledge of physics principles. No field service experience is required—Abberior provides extensive training and support for our engineers.
Your Tasks
- Field service for Abberior superresolution microscopes
- Coordination of maintenance activities with customers
- Remote support for Abberior superresolution microscopes
- Independent technical diagnosis, repair, and calibration of the microscopes
- Installation of new microscopes, components, and/or upgrades
- Installation of demo microscopes as a part of the sales process
Your Qualifications
- You hold a degree in the life sciences, physics, or engineering
- You work independently, analytically, and are goal-oriented
- You have hands-on experience with fluorescence microscopes
- Preferred: General knowledge of different fluorescence microscopy methods such as STED, STORM, and confocal imaging
- Preferred: Experience in technical after-sale service including field service and direct customer communications
