Salary Details:
The Junior Group Leader Grants will be 700.00 EUR each, awarded to the appointees. These grants will cover the junior group leaders’ salary according to German salary scales (TV-L 14), but will also be used to hire further scientific staff to build up an independent research group.

The Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung Center for Quantum Photonics Jena – Stuttgart – Ulm (CZS Center QPhoton) in Germany offers four outstanding junior researchers the opportunity to establish independent research groups at the Abbe Center for Photonics in Jena, and at the Center for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology IQST with the University of Stuttgart, and Ulm University.
Our Vision: Optimizing imaging and sensing techniques to monitor and control quantum systems, the application of quantum technologies to develop quantum-enhanced imaging methods, and the development and deployment of sophisticated methods to control and distribute quantum information.

You
- have completed your doctorate no longer than 5 years ago. Exceptions from this rule are possible, if well justified in the individual case.
- have proven outstanding academic achievements.
- have a fundamental research interest in at least one of the following areas:
- Sensing technology to control quantum systems, …including application-oriented (nonlinear) imaging techniques for quantum sensing, quantum simulators and quantum computers.
- Quantum technology for advanced quantum imaging methods, …including imaging methods with quantum light, particularly concerning progress from existing lab demonstrations to application-oriented settings.
- Information processing for quantum technology, …including quantum information and advanced information processing methods for data analysis and quantum-based network architectures.
- Photonic systems for quantum control and information processing, …including holistic photonic system design and integration
About Abbe Center of Photonics, Friedrich Schiller University Jena
The Abbe Center of Photonics (ACP) is the academic center of scientific activities in the fields of optics and photonics at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena de. Research is conducted in joint cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute Jena, the Helmholtz Institute Jena, the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology, and the German Optics Museum.
